They learn to do this in interactive college classes and are graded on their performance. Class has never been sexier with beds, cameras and a hot professor. I loved this fictional story.

Good but not great

While certainly the largest and most-comprehensive Saab text ever penned, do not mistake "comprehensive" for "complete." Coverage of pre-GM Saab is excellent and it is this time period most Saabophiles will purchase the book for. The 2003-2012 9-3 sedan, the 2011 9-4x, nor the 9-2x or 9-7x get more than a cursory look. In fact, the 9-4x got one short paragraph, the 9-2x got nothing more than a picture, and the 9-7x nothing more some random mentions. Now, I am in no way advocating for extensive coverage of the Saabaru or Trollblazer. However, like it or not, they are a part of Saab's history and should have been treated fairly. I was also particularly surprised by the severe lack of commentary on the 9-3 Sport Sedan, Saab's costliest and longest car development project and arguably one of its better cars. However, the NG900 and previous 9-3 got plenty of attention, despite being clearly inferior to either the prior 900 or the subsequent 9-3. The classic Saab 99 and 900 of the good ol' days however are particularly well-covered with loads of photographs. The very first Saabs (92,93,96) also are well-covered. While it is a nice book that I enjoy flipping through from time to time, it seems the author let personal bias get in the way of the creation of this book, choosing to cover certain Saab cars in overt, exacting detail whilst others hardly were even mentioned. I hope either Mr. Cole or another author will rise to the occasion and produce a truly excellent Saab book some time down the road, especially once the whole NEVS-Saab affair gets going.

Incomplete and clearly rushed to press

Was excited at the prospect of a new Saab book. When the book was received I was underwhelmed. The book handles the historical info reasonably well, but skims over the recent history. It is clear that the author wished to capitalize on the news surrounding the Saab bankruptcy rather than doing a thorough and complete job. An example of this is the paragraph on the 9-4x SUV. The information on this vehicle is hidden in another chapter and provides no useful details about the vehicle. This is a very poor effort from Mr. Cole on the later history. I hope that it provides the profit he was clearly aiming for, it is an ok book, but don't expect much "good" information on Saab/SWAN's last days and the final products.

Great photos and text. Lots of info about the earlier Saab models and the foundation of Saab. Towards the end of the book the author seems to have run out of gas (pun intended) and the info on the Saab 9-5 and 9000 models are a little lacking.

Mr. Heinrich is a captivating writer

I loved as always his scrupulous attention to detail. His continuous attention to the effects of natural selection and the "survival of the fittest."
I'd recommend this to anyone interested in endurance or evolution or living by their wits.
I chose this rating because the gratification I experienced reading this book far outweighed the paltry few dollars I spent on it.

WARNING - Racing the Antelope Retitled!

Heinrich fans, take note: "Why We Run" is Heinrich's "Racing the Antelope," retitled and repackaged. Don't make my mistake and order this book thinking it is a new work. It isn't.
As to the book, I thoroughly enoyed "Racing the Antelope." Part autobiography (Heinrich is a very interesting person) part biology (presented in a very accessible way), part scientist at work, this book gets to the core of, well, why we (at least some of us) run.

In the words of one of her favorite songs, she enjoys "…singing songs to pass the night away…" She lives in southern New England with her husband and three very spoiled animals.

I loved The Bruised Thistle!

If your looking for something to curl up with and sweep you away, The Bruised Thistle is the one to buy. I fell in love with Seumas and Iseabail from the first pages. Ashley York takes you on a roller coaster of emotions. You'll be rooting for Seumas and Iseabail all the way through, but be sure to have the tissues ready. It's a great book, and I recommend it to all who love a good Scottish historical romance.

What an Awesome Read!

The Bruised Thistle, is a great read - a tale of two people, who must learn to trust, love and heal. The story will grab you from page one and you won’t want to put it down until the end. You’ll find yourself laughing out loud, routing for, and yes…crying for Seumas and Iseabail.

What a marvelous debut! I highly recommend The Bruised Thistle and look forward to the next one from Ashley York.

Amazing Scottish Romance Love Story

I highly recommend reading this Scottish Romance. You will enjoy this book as much as I did. It is a story full of adventure, romance, laughter and tears.. Absolutely loved Seumas and Iseabail. Seumas is running away from himself and Iseabail is on the run with a price on her head. This is Ashley York's 1st book and I can't wait for the 2nd and 3rd in the series to come out. Keep them coming.
