Everything you thought you wanted is about to change...
By Tough Critic Book Reviews
I've been manipulated in all the best ways! The. Best. Ways. K.A. Linde took everything from Avoiding Commitment and found a way to make it better. This was better. Better in a way that I did not see coming.
Don't get me wrong, this book will frustrate the hell out of you. There are times you'll want to punch Lexi right in the tang hole, grab Ramsey, then run! Wait...WHAT!?? Did she just say grab Ramsey? Hell yeah I did!
True, I was the captain of Team Jack and the grand master of the "Jack & Lexi getting it on" parade. Even though he was a total dick, I still wanted him with Lexi. I knew he was bad for her, but I want them together. I needed them together. I never even came close to wanting her with Ramsey. In fact, I was terrified of what this sequel would bring, terrified. Ramsey was just a secondary character and I wanted him to stay there. He didn't stay there.
After reading AC, if you would have told me that Ramsey was going to be so present in book two, my interest in reading it would have been a little less than zero! This is Lexi and Jack's story not Lexi, Jack, and, Ramsey's, but this is me admitting that I WAS WRONG!! Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. I LOVE RAMSEY and I was wrong! Ramsey instantly ripped off my Team Jack shirt with his bare hands and took me! He took me away from Jack and I never want to go back!
K.A. Linde took a huge gamble with Ramsey in AR...huge! But amazingly, she hit the jackpot! She made me effin fall in love with Ramsey, HARD! You know how amazingly talented you have to be to change a readers mind like that?! Seriously!? Blown away!
Don't get me wrong, this book will piss you off just as much as the last. Yes, ALL the characters need several years of intense therapy and some highly potent psychotropic medication, but the emotional ride and drama is the driving force behind this series. A series that can intensely make you love and hate at the exact same moment. Many readers don't like this series because of the pure unadulterated frustration of it all. It will literally drive you insane, but do you know how invested you have to be in a story to go through the vast array of emotions that the Avoiding Series makes you feel? Let yourself feel and be thankful for it!
This was better than the first! Thank God it's not the last.

The Autumn Review for Avoiding Responsibility
By The Autumn Review
Once upon a time I found a book on fictionpress. This book introduced me to a tale of love, angst, regret, turmoil, and holy hot sex. I became immediately addicted and spent the following two days reading not only the first book, but the second as well. This treasure of a find is called the Avoiding Series.
At the time, Avoiding Responsibility, the second book wasn't even completed. So what did I do??? I tracked (stalked) down the authors info and contacted her (begged) about her plans to finish the book. I may have also encouraged (pressured) her to publish these truly spectacular books. And guess what??? SHE DID! Now I get to share my obsession with those of you who have and who've yet to read these amazing books.
There have been a select few books/series that have stayed with me for days or weeks after I've finished them. This is one of those series for me. In Avoiding Commitment, I met Lexi and Jack. These two had an undeniable sexual connection. They were a part of each other's past and had a terrible time letting go of their obsession with each other. Needless to say, things did not end well for them in the end. Jack is now engaged to be married to a horrid, horrid girl named Bekah. Not only is Jack engaged, but Lexi has found herself entangled with Bekah's smokin hot brother Ramsey *sigh*.
Now we get to dive in to Avoiding Responsibility. I'm not going to give a run down of the story, because you MUST read it for yourself. However, I will say that this book was the perfect sequel. The ending of AC wasn't wrapped up in a neat little bow. I was left feeling unsettled and anxious. Plus, I really wanted Lexi to be with Ramsey. So, we start out a year after the end of AC and A LOT has happened in that year. Don't worry, you get to see what all happened within that year and how it leads up to where Lexi and Ramsey's relationship stands at this point.
Lexi has definitely made some bad choices in relationships in the past. I love that her character is flawed. It makes her more realistic to me. The thing I appreciated the most in this book was that Lexi finally takes responsibility for her actions. Not only with her relationship and the destruction she caused with Jack, but with her relationship with Ramsey.
Ramsey is also flawed. Yes, he has lived a privileged life and is a powerful guy in general. But, Ramsey is real. What he feels is real. He has tried desperately to separate himself from his family and make a name for himself. There is also a darkness to his character. He has some issues from his past that surface and cause major problems in his relationship with Lexi. However, Ramsey doesn't give up on fighting for Lexi. He's completely committed to her and wants her in his life. He is seriously...perfect.
I had the privilege of beta reading this book and I have to say that I fell even more in love with these characters and this story the second time around. Lexi and Ramsey have a magnetic relationship that pulls you in and makes you want to see them make it work. Not to mention the sexual chemistry. I mean...seriously WOW. The sex scenes were vamped up a bit and definitely got my heart rate up and the panties at a steady level 5. In fact, prep yourself with whatever tools, (toys) you may need to get through the following scenes: after the rehearsal dinner, angry sex, and the "I love you" scene. And yes I admit, I re-read those scenes "multiple" times.
If you can't tell, I love this series (it's an all-time favorite) and AR made my heart happy. These characters have become such a big part of my life. I will be anxiously waiting for the third book to release.
K.A. Linde is an author to watch. She is a natural writer and story teller. She writes raw, realistic, and gritty love stories that will entrance you from the first page. I guarantee we will be seeing some great things from her in the future.
If you haven't started this series yet, you are seriously missing out. SERIOUSLY. RUN to get it!

5 STARS! HIGH OCTANE DRAMA AT IT'S BEST!
By Debbie Black Heart
Reading K.A. Linde's Avoiding series reminds me of the time back in high school when I was totally addicted to watching daytime soap operas. All the sex, lies, and drama was so over-the-top and inconceivable but for some reason I could not tear my eyes away from it. Just like with Avoiding Commitment, K.A. Linde had my stomach in knots and my nerves on edge while reading Avoiding Responsibility. If you are into high-octane drama, then you'll want to hang on tight because Avoiding Responsibility will take on one bumpy and emotional ride.
Avoiding Responsibility begins one year after the events that took place in Avoiding Commitment. A lot has happened since Lexi left Jack back in Atlanta. Lexi has finally rid herself of the dysfunctional and tumultuous relationship she had with Jack Howard and has recently been spending some time with a sexy mystery man. When Avoiding Responsibility opens up, Lexi is actually pretty happy and just enjoying her current status. But per the usual, Lexi's life doesn't stay drama free for very long. Just as she's enjoying her time with mystery man, Ramsey Bridges reemerges back into her life. You find out that Lexi and Ramsey reconnected after she returned to New York and that they were in a relationship for a year before things turned sour. I won't go into all the sordid details of their relationship because a lot does happen but in typical K.A. Linde fashion a lot of drama ensues between Lexi and Ramsey. Just because she's with a new guy doesn't mean that Lexi's love life is smooth sailing from here on out.
Lexi wasn't the type of heroine that I instantly fell in love with. She had me questioning her morals and ethics in Avoiding Commitment and definitely made some pretty horrible decisions when it came to her love life. But even with all the questionable decisions she'd made, I couldn't totally dislike her. Unlike some female characters who saw no wrong in what they did (*Ahem*...Kiera from S.C. Stephens Thoughtless), Lexi acknowledged her mistakes and took responsibility. She's flawed and she knows that, which made her more realistic. In Avoiding Responsibility, Lexi has come to terms with all the destructive behaviors in her relationships with Jack and Ramsey and makes an effort to not follow in the same footsteps. I really commended her for her effort and was glad to see her grow and move forward.
When I finished Avoiding Commitment I was totally on the Team Ramsey bandwagon. Although his character was still a little sketchy and questionable I had hopes for him. He's nowhere near perfect even though you'd think otherwise with his blonde hair, handsome face, perfect physique, and Country Club look. He's has his own secrets to hide and definitely has just as much baggage as Lexi. Although he grew up privilege he's nothing like the rest of his family, especially his sister. He's independent, strong willed, determined, and aspired to be his own man. His dedication to Lexi and willingness to do whatever it took to make her happy is what really sold me on him. He definitely made more of an effort than Jack ever did to show Lexi that she was his one and only and that she would always be his number one.
Obviously a few characters from Avoiding Commitment make a reappearance in Avoiding Responsibility, namely Jack and Bekha (of course!). These two really need an award from me because they are two of my most hated people. Jack is still a lying, cheating, coward who can't make up his damn mind. His indecisiveness is really quite pathetic and I honestly just wanted to kick the guy in the gonads. His fiancé Bekah isn't any better. She's still little Miss Debutante sitting on her high horse and things she can continue to manipulate people. Really, she and Jack are perfect together and I really wished them a lifetime of unhappiness and misery. Lexi's best friend Chyna is still a major part of her life and I just love this girl. I loved seeing her Chyna always ready to have Lexi's back and quite honestly I was crossing my fingers that Chyna would finally waltz into Atlanta and just give Bekah a piece of her Italian-New Yorker mind. I was ready for the claws to come out.
While I was satisfied with the ending, everything wasn't neatly tied up into a perfect little bow. I can definitely see more out of this series and I welcome the drama. Miss Linde will just have to give me a little time because I don't think my body could handle taking that much stress. Like I said, Avoiding Responsibility is high-octane drama with so many lies thrown around that you never know where the story is going to end up. K.A Linde definitely takes you on one crazy and emotional train ride full of angst but for some reason it's not one you'll want to jump out of once you're in. It's so easy to get sucked into the tumultuous relationships and the dysfunctionality of these people.
I wouldn't be too surprised to see this series being picked up by a major publisher soon. With the trend they've been following lately, Linde's Avoiding series fits the angst ridden tales publishers have been seeking out. If you haven't started this series, I suggest you do because it's pretty awesome and you'll definitely enjoy the ride.
